Default Corvette News

My neighbor just gave me a fairly complete set of "Corvette News" magazines dating from 1970 thru the first issue of 1980. Missing a couple of issues from various years, but otherwise it's a fairly complete set.

Should I toss them? I bought an '04 Z06 a few months back, and he thought I might be interested in them. He doesn't want them back. Would these be worth anything to the right buyer? Just curious.

I looked them over, but they'll just collect dust around my house.

I might be interested.

Hi!

Although I'm not sure what the value of the magazines might be, I have been wanting to put a collection of issues together for our local Corvette club and would be very much intersted in talking to you about either purchasing them for a reasonable price or taking them off your hands for the price of shipping in the event that you decide to toss them.

I am confident that the magazines would be a good source of reference to some our members and as such would be very thankful to receive them. Please feel free to email me at platato@yahoo.com

You can sell them for 5 dollars an issue on eBay. Some of those late sixties and early seventies CN have good tech tips on Q-Jet fine tuning and a lot on racing.
I have them from 68 to 76. I just completed the 74 year. This has a good ongoing article regarding the altering of your A/F ratio on a Q-Jet.
Nice friend, dude.

Yikes, I guess I won't be tossing them or giving them away. I do appreciate the info!

If anyone is serious about buying the complete set, drop me an IM. I'd rather keep the set intact. I can supply details on which issues are missing. If they're worth 5 bucks an issue on Ebay, I'd be willing to part with them for 4 bucks an issue to our Corvette community buds. I think I counted about 51 issues total, with '76 being the least complete year of the set.

I'm not out to make a killing, but it'd be nice to get some cash for a couple of mods to my new Z and a good bottle of wine for my neighbor.

Before you run out and put them on eBay, as one who has picked up a number of years...$4 an issue is high. Buyers wish to invest in sets which are typically 6 per year but which varies. I've paid between $12-15 but at times higher if its a highly desirable set...like 67 or 68. A 76 set I pad about $9.00 for the set...so if you put them out at $4 per issue or $24 per set (one year)...you may price yourself out of the market.

I too agree and may have been misguiding you in saying you could get 5 dollars an issue. I paid 60 dollars total for the year 69 through 77. I have a few issues missing from a couple of years and extras as well.
You just have to keep your eye out.

OK, thanks for the revised guidance. Let's say 2 bucks an issue, or 100 bucks for the set? Am I on track now? Thanks! :o
