Default Inserts for headlight holes

Do they make body panel inserts to fill in the holes where the headlights come up ?
( Ones that you glass in )

Thinking of mounting small headlights down where the running lights / turn signals go .

No. To get the proper contour it wil be easiest to laminate a mold on top of some existing lights (out of car) and thenfrom that mold laminate an insert. The problem is that most people that cover them will use flat sections and the headlamp lids are not flat, there's a slight curve to them. I think Big632 has glassed in lights, might want to ask him how he did it.

Its hard to believe as long as this type of vette has been out that noone has made a mold and sold these filler panels .

Ive seen several vettes with these holes filled and the headlights mounted down low . They look awsome !

I don't know the answer to your question, but this sounds dangerous. The lightiing is already crappy enough, and you're going to make it much worse. I'm pretty sure it's illegal too. So if your state requires an inspection, you may not pass.

Naaawww , with the Headlights down low the lighting would be better than fixed mounted in the original holes . That is how I had them on my Manta and it was legal .

The projection on the road surface is what counts, if you have the lights mounted down low you have to angle them real shallow to get a decent projection, this also means that a large portion of the beam is aimed stright ahead and up, possibly blinding oncoming traffic. I'm not sure what the rules are over there but here there are clear rules as to the minimum height of the headlamps.

This I understand but we are talking only 4 to 5 inches lower and there would still be a good 8 inches underneath them to the ground .

Take a second and draw yourself a diagram. The beams have a fixed divergence. As TT said, you'll have to aim them very shallow. When you do this, the top portion of the beam will mostly miss the road.

If the road is changing slope, then the problems are much worse. Mounting the light lower gives you a lot less leeway.

If your figure of 8 inches is correct (I'm guessing it's not), that is way too low. California and Alaska for example requires 24 inches from the center of the headlight to the ground. Canada requires 60 cm (~24"). I imagine everywhere else is similar.

8 inches was a understatement , 15 inches is more like it . Just got through measuring it .

I dont know what the laws are here but checking it would defenitely be wise before doing this conversion .
