Okay, so tonight I found two things. My tank sheet, and a leak. :
I've posted the tank sheet on Photobucket, let's see if I can link it yet:
Now, there are a few questions I have. The "Exp. Date of Prod." is listed as 0-0-68. I've figured out it's a January 1968 car, so far so good. I'd like to know where it was delivered to. Have been told by the former owner of 30 years (my father) it originally went to Hawaii, which fits in with dealer number 909. But not Zone 21 (Wisconsin?). And would it have "Export Preparation" for Hawaii (kinda makes sense?) It's driving me so nuts right now there isn't even a smiley for it.
Thanks for the help, BTW, without this board I'd never have even tried to pull the tank!

If you think about it...could have been ordered by someone in the military and then delivered to Hawaii where stationed. My 78 was ordered in Germany and delivered to Maryland. That's a pretty nice tank sticker. Looks like a 160 hand written but this is the body build number that was written on the panels during body assemble before the VIN was assigned. It was the factory's method for keeping up with body parts.

Actually, the handwriting is 166. Number written on the body (rear of storage compartment in front of tank) is 202?
And the story is that it was a member of the military who originally bought it in Hawaii (story from my father). We're mighty close to Ft. Leavenworth, so it's altogether possible. I'm going to try and contact Service Motors in HI (Dealer 909?) to see if I can get any more info (delivery date, etc). Wish me luck!

Now that is one sweet find. Heres wishing you luck in your search. I didn't find mine when I was looking. I just changed my gas tank a few weeks ago and found nothing.
There is a Zone/Dealer search function on the NCRS page @ http://www.ncrs.org/dealercode/dealerzone.html. If anyone has the information on their car's history, this is the place to share it.
I've attended a few NCRS schools on documentation and remember that the expected date of production being "ZERO" was common. The "export" part is very .
