Hello corvette friends Im installing braided ignition wires and would like to if when securing the braided end at the valve cover the aim manaul shows 2 wires together at each bolt is this correct? I would believe this would be correct for a S/B but mine is a B/B . i have seen pictures where 1 wire is secured at each bolt what is correct? thank-you.
The AIM is right. The wires were installed after the engine was painted. So they left a couple of valve cover bolts off when painting and installed the wires to those in finishing the engine. Those bolts will be unpainted.
I don't think braided wires were not installed on small blocks.
and... on one side 2 wires go on the first and 3rd bolt (1st being closest to the windshield) and the other side they will go on the 2nd and 4th bolt. I will have to look it up to tell you which side is which. When I re-installed my braided wires they could only go on one way, but that was because I had numbered them..
2 negatives equal a positive. So you do think braided wires were installed on small blocks?
trick question! Braided wires were NOT installed on our shark smallblocks, only the bigblock cars with radios. Any radio delete cars did not get the shielded wires. But according to this very informative page on the lectriclimited website, braided wires were used on 55 vettes.
