Default Smog head part #'s?

Well folks, it looks like my engine is leaking out out of the rear main seal, the front seal, and the valve seals too! Not to mention oil coming out around the fuel pump area. So I might as well pull that sucker out of there completely and freshen up the engine completely. Pull the heads and see what needs done. Easier than taking the "band-aid" approach...

So for the purposes of research and discussion, I'd like someone to remind me of the head numbers for the late-70's smog engines. I know they're prone to cracking. And -- this is new to me -- I've been told they can form hairline cracks around the valves, too!

Bummer to hear this. So, are you going to do something radical or just replace the heads, or what?

We'll see. Apart from the lousy smog heads, the L82 is actually a pretty stout motor. And I have nowhere to store the "numbers matching" engine. Also, there's a very good (as in no BS) engine shop here in town. Balance that against the co$t of a ZZ4 and whaddya get?
