How can you not know?
Just met a neighbor's father who was walking past and stopped to admire my car. "What year?" he asked. "74" I replied. His son asks him "What year is yours, Pop?" The father pauses to think and says "'68". I ask "Roadster or Coupe?". "I dunno" sez the old-timer. "Big block or small block?" I ask him. "Shrug".

He probably didn't know roadster=convertible. At least that's a little more believable.
Back when I was looking for a C3, one of the cars I test drove was owned by a little old lady who had bought it brand new in 77. I was the first one to tell her that the t-tops were removable.
