Default Strangest "no-start post" i ever read/made!!!

OK, so i get drive the vette to wotk this morning as a good luck symbol for my E-6 exam ( some good luck that turned out to be) And when i head out to geta quick swim at the base pool around lunch time and she wont start. No turn over, no the starter movement, NO RADIO. no nothing. Simply no sign of electrical life from this old vette what so ever!. Since there was no radio ( but the headlights work fine) I asumd it was the battery going bad on me! I am on base, so i simply disconnected it and took it over to the autohobby shop. They checked the battery and declared it good. So now i have a vette that ran fine this morning, yet now has no radio, the guages dont bounce when i try to turn it over, i faintly hear the slight "tone" when the door is open/ and or light is on. All i have is headlight and a vette thats making a great empression of a pet rock! I swear this car drives me crazy! Anyone have any suggestions!?!???

the first thing i would check would be the cables and where the negative cable bolts to the frame. what rate are you and how was the exam?

Check the main cable from the battery to the starter as well. Mine was corroding and did the same thing on occation. I found that you have to drop the trans a bit to replace the cable. Fun job.

Sounds like a fuseable link or other connections of the main power. Look near the starter and maybe at the firewall connector.

not the strangest "no-start" i've ever heard. actually, it sounds vaguely familiar. another thing to check would be the big six pin connector coming up from the starter. the connector is generally located right next to the heater box. it kills all power to the cockpit when a pin/wire melts.
