I just installed a rebuilt windshield wiper motor with a 3 port washer pump. As I'm looking at this I see no way that the Ingition shielding is going to fit as the washer plug is pointing towards the coil. What setup are you guys using????? I know the orginal calls for a 4 port washer pump.

Mr. D,
The original washer pump had a different style of connector on it as shown in the following pictures. The only difference between a "correct" 69 washer pump and the ones available today is the style of the electrical connector. The other MAJOR ($$$$) difference is the addition of a secondary solenoid controlled valve that directed washer fluid to the headlights on demand. In the original setup, the connector from the washer pump switch on the dash was connected to the auxiliary solenoid and from there jumper wires connected to the actual washer pump as shown in the pictures below. Lectric Limited sells something they call a washer pump adapter to use a non-original washer pump in place of the original but I have no idea if it would help your situation. The part number of the adapter harness is VWH6900CK.
