Help! Hood cable snapped, how do I get this open?
Hey guys,
The hood cable on my '79 apparently came off the passenger side latch. Does anyone know of a trick for getting the hood open? We can't reach it from under the car. Any help would be appreciated.

Jerry, I have an 80 so it should be similar. Put your wipers in the up position for more access. Pop out the rubber stopper in the wiper bay area with a long screwdriver (it is right in line with the lock), the rubber will push in. Push down on the lower part of the lock mechanism and it will open. Frustrating the first time it happens, but it is easy to open once you have done it once.
