while taking the 73 up to wisconsin for her annual run to minoqua,, i noticed that the head lights need to come up(the adjustment to make them shine farther ahead of the car) i was using the brights a lot because they dont shine far enough ahead --is there a adjustment screw to get the lights(low beams)to shine higher? the drivers side is even worse as it shines only10 feet in frt of car!---thanks---carl a
Yes, headlamps may be adjusted. Horizontal and vertical aiming of each sealed beam unit is provided by two (2) adjusting screws. One screw for vertical, one for horizontal.
(See section 12, page 12-3, of electrical-body and chasis section, of the Chevrolet 1973 service manual.)
The manual also sets out how to aim the headlights by placing the vehicle on a level service 25 feet from a wall. (See Page 27 of specifications section in rear of manual).
Carl: The 1973 Corvette Service Manual can be found on E-Bay motors. I bought mine there. I think one or two are listed there now for sale. The manual is excellent! A "must have".--Patrick
