Default Gas cap question

Are there any differences in the gas caps between the C3s?I wouldnt think so,but thought I'd ask before I buy.Thanks

Have one for 35 years. Replaced cap 3 times for rust. All were the same. Never had a problem about any different styles

68 and 69 C3's used vented gas caps, 1970 through 1974 used unvented caps and in 75-? the gas caps were the screw on type. The date ranges may not be totally correct except for the 68 and 69's.

I believe the earlier ones, without emissions, used a vented to atmosphere cap, while the later ones used a sealed cap and vented to a charcoal canister.

In light of this information,it seems a 77 would fit a 78 correctly? or not? Thanks for the replys

I read once that the caps that say "vented" on them actually are un-vented, and are meant to be used on a vented tank.
