Default Quartz Clock Conversions

I've got one from Corvette Central. Installation went just as they say it should .... but the one (of course exception)

The pinion gear on the shaft where you set the clock time, does not mesh properly with the gear in the clock head so you cannot set the time.

The kit comes with two sets of gears, PRE '70 and POST '70 (the black ones) so it seems like a slam dunk. The car's a '76.

I counted teeth too (ten) and got the right number. But the idler gear is too low to meet the other gear properly and I know that even if I do install the clock now, the only way I'm gonna be able to set it is to wait for the right time to connect the battery.

Who else has done this conversion from electronic to Quartz? Thanks!

I did this conversion on my 69. Just like you I followed the directions and ended up using the red gear set. You may be missing a spacer, because mine worked fine. Make sure something did'n't get misplaced or lost
