Default radiator removal

My Stingray is a 1976 L48 with factory A/C and 4 speed. Has anyone removed the radiator without removing the hood?

Mine is a 75 with no AC and I wouldn't have even attempted to remove the rad without the hood off.

Its super easy to remove and makes it ALOT easier. I dont even know if you could with it on.....maybe.

Yes, it takes two people to get the hood off, takes two people to get the radiator out. (whats the difference)

I'm with you ... 5 attempts at putting in in correctly. (Helps to have the lower
hose in place first...) Last time I put mine in, it was slightly off and enabled
the electric fan to rub a hole right in the center of it.

Should be able to remove it... pull on one side, walk around pull on the other...

Mine is a '79 and I have removed the radiator twice in the 5 years I have owned it. I have never removed the hood... Done it both times by myself.

Is an auto w/ AC (for what that matters...). Not hard at all, just a bit time consuming (but what on these cars isn't!?!?). On the '79 there is a ton of things that need to come out first like the air ducting, fan cowl (did not need to remove, but loosen and move back over the fan as far as it would go). Trans cooling lines were already cut and rubber hoses put in. That made it much easier, I think.

Cheers!
