How many Clydesdales did you have to unhitch to get your muzzy into the 13's?????? That should tell you how much you'd have to invest to get a smogged, low compression C3 into your dream range...........doesn't matter if it's a 351 Windsor, 5.slow or 350 Chev....you're gonna have to put the same amount of coin into it to reach your goals.............
75 L82 4sp. bone stock oil leaks and all with 3.73 best time was a 15.1 @ 90ish mph. Shifted at 6500, was very nervous the 30 yr old motor was gonna let go but she did me proud.
Yeah I did alum. heads, 3.55 gears both done by a mechanic. then a shifter, full exhaust, chip, kn filter,
That head project was just too spendy. if I would do it again I would just do it myself. It's going to be hard to give her up after all we have been though, mostly the money part. the car has come a long way from a lame kiddy pony to a real mustang. My big problem is that the two bolt blocks are rather weak. no going over 500-600 HP.
my 79 l82 4 speed close ratio w/ 3.70 gears stock ran a 14.39 @ 98 and thats with a bad r/t. the engine and tranny are stock. The only mods are true dual exhaust 2" no cats, K&n filter with stock air cleaner, hurst shifter, recurved ignition, and roller tip rockers. So with very little mods it will run a decent time.
79 L48, Th350 auto with 3.70 then 3.36's. Best time was 15.1. Only mods were 2"true duals through manifolds and a recurve kit. I rejetted the stock qjet. Stock times in R&T for that year L48 was 16.1
