Default Insurance for my Vette

I am buying a 82 CE with 35,000 miles. The car is posted on this site in the for sale area.I'll try to find it and put it ttt.The car is in the Tampa area and I have been trying to get to it for the last month but we all know how the weather has been.Anyway my question is what kind of ins. do you all have.I know about the places that insure classic cars(Haggerty, ect)What is the best one?Even though I won't be driving it everday I will drive it quite a bit so I don't want any restrictions on how many miles I can drive.

I have American Hobbyist.I do not think you will find a classic insurance that does not have a mileage restriction, that is the purpose of it being considered a classic(not a daily driver).I have had my insurace since the middle of July and still not have put the 1st mile on the car as i am still working on it. had to have proof of insurance to get license plate. car had not been driven for the last 12 years

I use American Collectors. I have a 30K agreed value and it cost me about 300 per year.

Congrats on your soon to be made purchase.

You may find that you will receive very few replies on this topic because a couple of guys got burned by their insurance companies. The companies apparently read their post on this site and decided to drop them as clients due to what they said....happened about three or four months ago....might find some stuff in the archives.

I used AON collector car insurance. Agreed upon value of 15K cost me $101 bucks a year. They have some restrictions with driving the car but not as bad as some of the other collector car insurance companies.

This company may not work for you as you have to show that the car is NOT your only car; you drive it occasionally but not all the time. MY '82 is my "Friday if it's not raining car".

I've got State Farm Classic insurance...agreed value of 15k for about $320/year...no restrictions whatsoever.

Default My 2 cents

I also have AON (only recently) and chose them because they do not have any annual milage restrictions. They required proof of a insured daily driver other than your Vette and that it sleeps in a locked garage when not in use. Insurance for my 78 was agreed on at $9K and runs about $170 a year (lower normally, but the engine mods drove it up about $70). Obviously I haven't had and claims with them so I can't speak of that. And honestly I hope I never do.

Wow! That's high! I have my '70 on a State Farm Collectors Policy with stated amount replacement of $26K and it's costing me $128 per year. I do have a Pennsylvania antique plate on it which comes with some limitations.

Default No garage...

Does anyone know of a insurance company that will insure a car that is not kept in a locked garage?
