Default Anyone use 15x7 wheels?

Long story short, sorry for the again. I have been trying to buy some old Vector wheels... second set off ebay that are the wrong size because people who sell wheels can't measure width and backspace correctly.

Latest drama involves a set of 15x7 Western Turbos with 4" backspacing. They were listed as 15x8 and are of course almost 8" wide on the outside. They are stamped in HUGE letters 15x7 inside each rim and measure 7" inside the flanges. I won't go into detail but the seller won't budge and I don't want to leave him bad feedback because he will do the same to me... yummy.

I have a 77 L82 with 255/60/15 tires. Will these stick in as far as I think and look as dumb as I think? Or should I mount them and try it? Seems to me like the tires are too wide for the rims and that the rims would look silly sitting so far inside the fender wells.

Advice?

Those rims might not be too bad. 68's had 15x7 so they might look OK.

Too bad you did not see the post here where the guy was going from Western wheels back to stock. Do a little clicking and maybe you can find his post. Might still have them? Yellow 77 or maybe a little earlier I think it was.

I've been on the board since may and always emailed anyone thinking of doing that. I'll do a search. Thanks

Anyone tried this on a 70's vette? Pics?

I am looking for a pair of 7" wheels to mount my drag radials on. I have a 68. But I am looking for something cheap, ie Vintique rallys @ $68 are high end!

btw, bfg 255/60/15
Minimum Recommended Rim Width (in) 7
Maximum Recommended Rim Width (in) 9
so it should fit.... tight.

I paid $175 for the set of 4 rims. They're yours for that price any time. Thanks

Will the Vectors fit without spacers? Or add 1/2" spacers and they will fit just like the 15x8's.

I am running 15x7's with 255x60x15's on the back, but my backspacing is only 3.5" and no spacers.

These have 4" backspacing, so wouldn't that need a full 1" spacer to get the outside edge to line up with the outer fender?
