Hi, I'm new here..
I have '71 stingray with small block and it is time to change
brake pad. I heard ceramic pad was less noisy and made little
dust out of it and looked for that on internet, but nothing was found
for C3.
Are there ceramic pads available that fit C3 stock brakes ?
Good question - I'm planning on using Raybestos Quiet Stop on the wife's 94. I'm pondering a post over there to see if there's any experience with that.
I and many C5 owners have used the Raybestos QS with excellent results. Truly quiet, and at least half the brake dust.
The only thing to consider with ceramic pads is that they are not high performance pads. They will work just fine for a normal driver; but will start to fade if used in an autocross type environment.
I had ceramic pads in my car for two years. Better stopping performance but they squeaked ALOT during regular driving around town or cruises. Switched back to organic pads. Not quite as good braking but doesn't squeak and squeal anymore either.
I checked out Corvette central.. I do not know how good or bad
it is , but seems like this is the only ceramic pad for C3, so
may be worth to try. I use my vette only on street and may not need
ultimate stopping power.
I heard a lot of good things with Raybestos QS, but doesn't
seem to fit C3 stock brakes.
Does anyone know about Wagner ThermoQuiet ?
