I'm trying to install my Q-Jet on a ZZ4 engine but there seems to be an issue with the choke. This is a small coil in a housing on the P side of the carb which was mounted flat against the intake manifold on the original engine. On the new manifold (GM# 10185063), there is a plate that blocks off a space in the right location, but the manifold is diagonally-shaped there instead of flat.
I know people have used Q-Jets on ZZ4 engines before, but the only way I can see to remedy this problem is to use a different thermostatic coil. Is this right?
Thanks for the help! I really hope I don't need a new carb...
Dave
Edit: I just found out that this manifold uses an "integral hot air choke" so I need a conversion kit... has anyone done this?
