Help,
I am looking into heads and cam combinations for my SBC 350 HO. What is the best bang for buck combo. GM fast burn, Dart, AFR ???
what size runners?? what size chamber?? what cam?? I have an auto 350 but will be getting a 200 4R and a 2400-2800 stall, I will also be installing 3.73 gears. The whole head/cam combination thing really confuses me.

Reason: bad title
some body must have an opinion on something as trivial as heads and cam shaft
If you have the vortec heads that came with it (350HO crate eng) then you have the best bang for the buck, they will be good to about .480 lift and support about 400 hp with good torq. Why dump extra $ if you want a BB anyways?
Not sure if I have vortec heads because the intake does not have the vertical mounting bolts but they do have center bolt covers. I do also have a marine 450 HP 502 magnum with merlin intake and msd ignition. will it fit in a 79 with an oil pan change (Marine oil pan) will the SBC brackets and stuff fit a BBC???
The article states that the factory vortecs will only accomodate .420 lift but that can't be true because the 350HO cam with a cam with .460 lift on the exh side.
Aren't marine eng reverse rotation? If not then I would think a oil pan change would do the trick but you need all new (or used) brackets, water pump, headers, etc.
Yeah but back to the topic,
Dart Pro-1 Heads, what cam??
Sportsman II Heads, what cam??
Dart Iron Eagle Heads, what cam??
Edelbock Performer package?? I have an RPM intake now, Holley 650 DP
Brodix, Track 1 Heads, what cam??
OR would it be better to take my vortec heads and have them ported??
Is aluminum heads necessary??
