Yep, I've seen that before. Loose rocker arms will add enough slop to bend a pushrod. I had it happen just a few months ago with our parts hauler vehicle. Everything should be fine as long as a visual inspection checks out. Look at the lifter and the rocker cup.
check the locknuts, the 2 affected ones are probably loose, they should not be reused after removal but some people do...when they are not locking properly they can back off.
polylocks wont fit under the stock aluminum vavle covers unless you grind the crap out of it. I had to grind those oil deflector things off the inside of my valve covers.
I just broke 3!!! Broke the very tips right off where they meet the rockers. And they were the solid one-piece type. Oddly enough, it started ticking very bad for about 10 seconds and then it went away. I drove the vette home from the dragstrip with no problems and thought I just had to readjust lash. Just for ***** and giggles I popped off a couple of the rockers and sure enough, Bingo!
Somethings not right in the valvetrain elsewhere too then, only time I've seen that is when the piston smacks the valve. If the valve springs are new and you havent floated them, this shouldnt happen.

To get the extra clearance for polylocks and/or roller rockers, you can try doubling up the valvecover gaskets by glueing them together with 3M Trim Adhesive or get the Felpro fatties. . .
