I had the Pertronix on my previous Vette for 5 years with no problems. The factory look / discreetness was a key decision factor at the time.

The first thing I replaced when I got my 73 in 1998 was the points. I replaced them with the Pertronix Igniter Lobe Sensor, and a little later added Lars' recurve kit. I've had zero trouble with either.

I bought the Crane Cams XRi for the rev. limiter(20 min install time), I use the MSD Blaster coil. SERIOUS spark!!!!! no problems yet.
