I see you are taking the easy road out for drag racing.

Should be much more consistant and easier on parts. Are you shooting for low 10s with this setup.

Engine should be finished early october and deliverd by mid to late October.. Shortly after - I'll install engine and tranny and then I'll have the Ford 9 inch setup installed.. It all depends on when the shop will have time to do my car and how long it'll take to install it...

I'm actually shooting for 10's on engine and 9's with 150 shot of NOS...
The car should run high 10's on engine (without NOS)...

I'm used to auto and manual.. My C5 was auto and I actually did a lot more passes with my C5 than with the C3...

The 200R4 will be built to 800 HP.. so it should handle the power of my combo.. CPT actually builds many of the components of their tranny themselves...

Here are some specs of the new engine:

406 small block (400 block bored .030 over)
Dart Pro 1 Heads with 230 cc intake runners - fully ported and matched to 1206 gasket
Fully forged short block
Comp Cams 12-908-9 solid roller cam

300/308 degrees advertised and 264/270 degrees .050 duration..
.630 lift + 1.6 roller rockers = approx. .670 lift...
Stud Girdles...

It should actually be pretty streetable if I get a good enough tranny cooler... With the high stall speed - keeping the tranny cool will be the main goal...

Good luck getting that thing in October Olivier! Maybe Oct 2005
AR is sooo behind on custom engines it's ridiculous. If you do get yours by then, then I'll ask what the heck you've been doing for them on the side to bypass all the others of us that have had to wait 6 months+ after the time they said.
I can't wait to see the setup though, I hope to be visiting my sister sometime early next year in Tampa and maybe I could come by for a visit and see the infamous GSC3.

I rode in your C-5.... remember. That motor combo with a performance auto and transbrake is gonna be a way different beast.

Buddy of mine is running just about the same combo engine wise as your putting in...in a 72 nova. A little different specs, he's about 12.5-13:1, with a dart intake 1150 Holley, dual stage plate sys 150 and 200. He's running 6 teens at our 1/8 and he still isn't getting the car to hook up all the way. He's still got some tuning to do on the suspension.

Reason I mention this, is he's broke 3- 400's in it, so he went with a powerglide..built internals of course and I was with him when he ripped the case in half first pass. He has had to go with a aftermarket PG case and swapped all the internals out of his other one and it's holding now so far. It's putting all the power down on the track now hence the reason He's got to tune the suspension.

With the 400's in it it would pull the tires up all the way thru first, tap down on the gear change and tote them half way thru second.

I know your not quite that radical yet, but do you think the 200 will handle that?

My 383 has ate my perf 700 already...I'm in the process of rebuilding it with everything I can get to strengthen it more to make it live as a street/strip trans.

Good luck with your project

Would be great if we could meet if you come to the area!!

I hope that the engine will be finished soon.. I might get some preferred treatment considering that I'm a repeat buyer ... at least I hope so

That's a much more radical setup - especially with dual shot of NOS... You can build 400's to 2000 HP.. so maybe his wan't built to the maximum that a TH400 can take...
The 200R4 should hold up ok.. I was over an hour on the phone with CPT.. They have several mid 9 second cars with their tranny and it is holding up pretty good... Their tranny is quite different from all the other 200R4's that you can buy because they manufactore many parts themselves...
