Default Anyone do Keisler 5 speed

Has anyone with a C3 one the auto to manual conversion using the Tremec 5 speed from Keisler. Ad in 'vette mag says 2899. a little high, but if all components are there.. might be worth it. 7 hour install?? (I lareadyu have a new crossmember from BowTie as I have a 700R4. With the TPI installed, I think the 5 speed and the 3:55's would be great.. Just hoping for some feedback from someone who has done it.

Thanks Guys

I believe that price is for the manual 4 speed to tremec 5 speed conversion, auto to 5 speed will be more expensive because of the clutch, bellhousing and pedal assembly needed.

I'm planning on doing the auto to tremec 5 speed conversion over next winter but I'll buy the parts locally and not use the kit. I think it will be a little more work but also a little cheaper.

I went from 4 speed to 5 speed so I can't comment on the price. The 3.55 gears should be great. I have 3.70s in mine and think it is perfect. My motor does not make a lot of low end torque so anything below 50 mph in 5th is useless. The trans is great and worth it.

I did the 700r to tremec switch and the results are great . There is no need for drive shaft work as the two are the same length . I gathered the required clutch components both from members here and ebay to install the hydraulics .

Why 5 gears when you can get 6 for the same price! The T56 is the way to go, and you can buy one modified for C3's for around 2400, I believe Tremec carries it. I've purchased a T56 6 speed out of a 96 camaro and I plan on installing it over the winter. It's more work than the installing the modified T56, but I got it a good price. I hope to install the 6 speed myself with some help from some friends, I won't spend over 2K total doing the entire conversion.

Becuase the T56 is longer, heavier, requires more modification to the frame, 6th gear is useless, TKO offers .068/ .064 while that 1:1 gear end sucks. Okay that's why.

I did mine in my garage on the floor. It was not to bad at all. I did cut the crossmember but after that it was a breeze. The TKO 5 speed fits very well. I have the .68 overdrive and with 3.70 gears it cruises down the highway at about 2200 rpm at 70 mph. Perfect for my motor.
