New Engine install
What a hassle this has been so far!!!
I thought I had everything ready to go in the garage..... but NO!!!
Friday I found they sold me the wrong clutch, had to order new clutch for Saturday. So I bought some De-Greaser to clean up the engine compartment real good...While cleaning up I discovered my Motor mounts were junk... No problem (I thought), I'll pick them up when I get the correct clutch.... not a chance, had to order motor mounts for Sunday!!!
So finally, Noon sunday I'm installing the engine... the motor mounts need longer bolts to bolt to the engine and shorter bolts to bolt to the frame!!! ANOTHER trip to the store..... I finally get the Trans bolted to the engine, and the motor mounts in, Time to Install the Hooker headers/Sidepipes that I thought was a COMPLETE kit..... NO Header bolts!!! I look around before I go to the store again & find I'll need new starter bolts (New gear reduction starter is different) and the T-stat housing bolts are too long!!
Too bad ARP does not make a bolt kit for a '97 Vortec engine into a '73 car!!!
I'll try again tonight!!!
