...to walk up to my car at the office, say "these are made of fiberglass, right?" and then knock on a fender?
Drove the '79 to work today, and one of the attorneys I work for did the knocking thing, while another guy saw me (literally, he was standing right there) get out of my car and asked "That your car?"
No, moron - I stole it so I could come to work this morning.
Anyway, anyone else drive their car to work this morning?
Yeah I drove mine yesterday and today - planning on driving it tomorrow and Friday - the rest of this week is gonne be beautiful here in MD. Today is the first day of autum and it's gonna be 85* outside. I get what year is that? but to me it's all good cause it give me an excuse to talk about my car!!

Awww C'MON NOW! You're missing a terrific opportunity to stretch braggin' rights!
"No, not a bit of 'Glass here in this one. In '77 they were actually Stainless Steel and it's a great secret that the biggest problem G.M. had back then was getting the paint to stick well on the Stainless . So as you can see, this model here that you are FRICKIN' THUMPING ON! is actually worth a small fortune. Not just because of the Stainless body but because the paint has held up so well over the years! So Leave it ALONE! "
i love when people say'' ya- the first ones they made were steel- then they got cheaper and went to fiberglass''- i wonder how that one started.---------------
I dont get that... i just get the bizztches that ask what color my car is...last i checked, it was orange, but i'm just a plumber...what color does it look like to you folks????
No one asks about my car at my college. I've shown it to a couple people.
One girl asked me to stop revving the engine because it scared her. This was before I changed the heads and cam. Wonder what she'd think of it now... it's MUCH louder.

I have two cars and I walk to work, go figure...
I have a few paint chips, car hasn't been painted in like 15 years. I always get people saying "Whoa buddy you need a paint job on that thing eh!" Ya, thanks I had no idea the paint was missing there...

I drove mine to work yesterday and in the afternoon one of the bosses ask me if I loaned my Vette to someone? I said, "No" Then he said that I might have a problem then. I couldn't figure out what he was talking about Then he said that when he was leaving for lunch he saw some black guy leaving in it
By the way, even in the dead of summer with no AC the car goes to work at least once a week. I just happens that the 8 months of perfect driving weather are just starting.
I drive my red 71 to school every day, rain or shine, winter or summer. I'm a senior in Highschool and I can definatly say i have the coolest car at school. I lost a friend after i got my vette because he had a 1967 Mustang that everyone ignores now.
I drove mine to work yesterday and today. It's in the high 70's here and I really love this kind of weather. Yesterday I drove the car about 70 miles in all. I had a dentist appointment that was a ways away.
I have just recently finished doing a little custom body work and a new paint job to my 78, and I think my favorite question so far during that time was, "so are you gonna take it all the way down to the metal when you redo it?" to which i replied, "uh i sure hope not, ill have a frame and some inner doors....." I guess he didnt get the "memo"
