Default Good By Old Brownie

Old Brownie has been sold. Yes, I parted with the old car and after having owned her for 28 years, it was hard to let her go. She was in our garage for a long time but we decided to let her go and let somebody else enjoy the pride of ownership she gave us. We have hundreds of pictures and great memories of which to remember her by. All three of our children remember us always having her parked in the garage. My friends would joke that "I'll probably be burried in Old Brownie". The new owners are real nice people and first time Vette owners. Nice choise for their first Vette. Old Brownie was delivered to them on their 18th wedding anniversary. Nice anniversary gift. They live in Keller Texas so those of you in that area, if you see them out cruising, honk & wave at them. I guess now with Old Brownie gone, gee it's tough to say that, I'll need to worm up to my wife's C5 Torch Red convertible. I never have shifted my attention from Old Brownie to the newer Vette. Keep in mind, it's the wifes car, but I guess I'll go out to the garage and check "Rocket Red" out. Won't ever be the same as it was with Old Brownie.

Any chance of showing off some of those pics!

Having that car for such a long time... I imagine she was like a member of your family.

Although I only owned Silvia (silvr77) for a few years, I got attached to her as you did. I also felt like you do as someone else drove her away after the sale. The only thing that will make you feel better is another C-3.

As I think all of us go through that...I'm always debating selling "ole Red". She sits in the garage making a mess of the floor. She represents alot on money to spend most of his time sitting in the garage. I know what your saying..."Drive her dude" but the reality is I drive 30,000 miles a year and I don't have the kind of job that allows for less than a 100% reliable automobile.

I have talked about selling her and a buddy is always asking me to sell her to him. But to be honest I don't think I could stand to see someone else driving MY car around. Kinda like letting your buddy date your Ex girlfriend. Ya don't really know why....But it isn't right!!!!

Wow, that's tough to do. Did you ever see the Wonder Years where the dad finally sold the car? I can relate to the feeling...
