75 Vert Body-off Resto underway!!
Monday I sent my 75 Convertible off to live with my body & paint guy for the next six or seven months. It promised to return looking like a brand new car.
Yesterday, seeing how it'll likely be close to a year before I'm able to drive my prize, I went out and bought a 76 Coupe for cheap. Cheap because it suffers from a broken frame - a result of frame rot in the usual location right in front of the rear wheel well. Otherwise the car's in good shape with a strong motor, smooth tranny, and near perfect interior.
Any thoughts on a quick, cheap fix for the frame problem, good enough to last just a few months? When my convertible body is ready I'll likely be scraping this car, and pulling the drivetrain and interior for use in the vert.
