Default Spring and pocket alignment

Replacing my springs with some 460's but find the spring ends are pretty much inline with each other buy the pockets in the car are not so when I aligned the spring with the upper pocket and installed the spring the lower end of the spring is about 10-15 degress of rotation off. Will it settle and slide in the pocket or does it matter that it is off?

I think they are "off" by design...

Everything I have seen and done says line up the top in the
pocket, and never mind the bottom. However, I cannot provide
a solid reason for "why ?".

I have installed both 460s and stock SB springs this year.
The 460s are a piece of cake. You shouldn't have any problems.

I installed 460's the week before last and I had the same queston. I did a lot of research on the forum and I checked a haynes manual and the procedure is to allign the top and hope the hole is still open on the bottom so water drains out.

The 460's are easy to install. Similar to big block springs.
