Spring Question
Thanks in advance and wish SPRING was back! OR here already!
Do a search on this forum, I think this has been brought up before. I'm surprised no one has chimed in on this yet. I think the narrower coils will be on the bottom but wait for conformation on that before taking my word for it.
Good luck
I did notice the dates of the earliest postings are 1969. Wow.. the Internet wasn't up and runninger here I'm sure. But when I try to access those dates nothing comes up.
BACK to the springs, the part of the spring I can see on my 2 63's looks wide spacing. I cannot see the upper part becuse they are in the spring well. I don't know if those springs are the same style. I'll keep looking and taking all advice..
Thanks.
OBTW..what's red shift?...I work gold shift.
After searching a week on here with no luck, I finally found the answer to the front spring question.
After sending out a hundred emails with about 60% return with "can't help," I ran a cross a website that had it on the first page. Thanks to a guy restoring a '72.
FRONT COIL SPRINGS:
The spring is a variable rate spring – closer coils at the TOP. Some new aftermarket springs are shorter and may be simpler to install than it was taking the old spring out.
I hope this may help some other people out there!
