Hot Rod Magazine recently did a street car shoot out. I think it was in August. They invited 50 of the fastest "street cars" from around the nation to compete. To qualify, they're required to drive around 40 miles trough town and to the drag strip. Of the 50, only 37 could acomplish this task. A C3 Corvette with IRS (69 I think) pulled the fastest average E.T. of all the cars. He did 9.01 seconds three times giving him a 9.01 avg E.T. That's easy enough to figure out. Talk about consistency. Our Corvette brother would have won the competition and been deemed the fastest street car however because he kept his MSD ignition to close to the headers, thermal protection circuts shut it down three times giving him a D.N.F. This I.R.S. Corvette was about .7 seconds faster than the 1st place winner. I don't know what the record is for a stock suspension Vette but this might give you an idea.

I scanned this from my august hotrod issue. According to the article, the owner is steve hoch and lives in tolono illinois. I searched the internet, but couldnt come up with a match. The closest matches are:
