Default Seat belts

Will seat belts from other years or other cars bolt into a c3 (1977)? I just saw a complete set for a c5 sell for $51 while replacements for c3's are selling for $300+!

Fourth generation 98-03 F-body rear seatbelts bolt up with little modification. You can pick up a set off ebay or from a camaro/ firebird junkyard for between $50 and $100.

Thanks. I'm not looking to keep original. She will never be a numbers matching, big ticket, collectors dream

I just want something that looks good and works. I've got the interior completely removed so now is the time to do it. Do you know what types of mods it would take to install c4 or c5 seat belts?

Thanks guys!

Buy the camaro seat belts mentioned above. I put them in my 70 and they work great. You have to use the rear seat belts from the camaro and basically bolt them in. There is a metal locating tab at the bottom of the camaro retractor, just bend it flat and mount the retractor to the rear wheel well. Mount the reciever and then mount the other end in the floor near the exit side and you are set.

Fourth Gen Camaro rear belts are basically a bolt in. If you don't need original, then this is the way to go. Easy to find and easy installation too.

Good Luck!

My seat belts are in good shape but the retractors under the seats have stopped letting go, so I can't pull the belts out

How hard will it be to replace the retractors with new ones?
I can buy a set of two for just over $20...$35 with shipping

That's why I'm replacing mine. They were completely rusted. It's not hard to get the seat belts out, but repairing I just don't know. Mine are shot thanks to the obvious water sitting in the floor pan.
