Default Perfect Day...A Little Long

Today I finally realized why I spend so much money, break my knuckles, get aggrivated, get frustrated and spend so many hours out in the shed working on my 81.
I cut the lawn around 3 PM and it was beautiful out. Not to cold and not to hot, just right. I uncovered the vette and went for a long ride up to the mountains all by myself, except for Dion & The Belmonts. It was a great ride and I got lots of waves. Stopped for a cup of coffee at an opverlook and talked with some people that stopped for a break too. Came back home and p[ut the vette back to bed, just an overall nice day! I guess that is what its all about.

Nice to have one of the picture perfect days and a nice long ride in a Vette.

Richard,
I know what you mean. Did the last cruise (parked) day of the year today, got bored and cut it short to drive. The car hummed (stock exhaust now, the chambered is gone) and the drive was just wonderful. Sadly the winter storage company 'phoned last week to remind the car is due in for winter hibernation the third week in October......Oh well.

I stacked a cord of wood yesterday for winter heat emergency purposes. Don't like the energy outlook for oil and gas this winter. Need a back-up.

Last comment. I have followed the terrible fortunes of the people in Florida. What a tale of repeated misery! I will never complain about a quiet yet heavy snowfall ever again.

I know exactly what you mean, even though i cant drive yet (only 15) the past few days theres been PERFECT weather here, mid to low 70s with a pleasant cool breeze, and id just get home from school and start wrenching on the vette out back. and it is the most amazing experience to just stand out in the cool breeze and just quietly work on it, no one to bother you, just you and your car, i cant imagine a more relaxing/rewarding experience

Richard,
Had the same idea as you, woke up to a beautiful sunny warm day this late in the season and headed out. First i cleaned the 78 and made her shine like new of course. Got lots of waves and smiles and thumbs ups. After a great bbq dinner me and the wife went to a cruise in and gladly accepted people's oohs and ahhs. I love my Vette! A picture perfect day. Thanks for starting this stream Ruchard.

Girlfriend & I ran a tankful of SUNOCO thru my '82 today;
back-roads to the Pa. Pike, then 160+ at speed, and back-roads home again....

Only put 2100 miles on it March-September this year (same as last year), but we did 2400 in October-November last year;
hoping the weather holds-out this Autumn as-well.....
