Default Took the 80 for a test drive...

Do you guys think I should buy it?

It doesn't really matter, 'cuz it's sitting in my driveway now.

What have I gotten myself into? I took the driver's side door panel apart and lubed up all the mechanisms. Got too dark to do the passenger side.

He said I could take it around the block. Car hadn't been driven in a couple days. Hopped in, set the choke and it fired right up! Can't complain about that if you ask me.

Took it around the block, brakes felt great, engine was responsive enough for an LG4(sorry!) and I was sold. Drove it home an hour later.

Needs a tune up, oil change, and gasoline, but I'm confident it will run well enough for my little brother. I will probably upgrade the intake manifold and MAYBE cam it in the future. It's going to get a set of ultra flows or magnaflows in the future too.

Congrats, im sure your bro will love it. Our vette (currently my bros but will be mine as soon as i get my drivers license next year ) has really opened up a lot of things for me, and it has really changed my outlook on life, im sure hell love to work on it instead of wasting money on pointless electronics and games, and im sure itll teach him many important life lessons, i know our vette sure has. Good luck and spend some quality time with him working on it

Didn't you say you paid $2900? If so, that's is awesome. Why do I never find deals like this?

It's an electric choke (I think). E4ME Q-jet. Set the fast idle cam by pumping the throttle, of course.

BTW, it's a "bit" slower than the 78. (LG4)

It's been fun. I'm doing a door hinge pin right now. The driver's side door fights you when you open it...

Man, the 78 was a cakewalk compared to this thing. It's gonna be a long road...

I think I need to invest in penetrating oil on this one.

For that price it looks a lot better than I had expected. Sounds like it is in pretty good shape too. Nice buy.

Should you take the passenger door panel off, would you do me a favor? I need a picture of the PDL pigtail. Mine had corroded so badly that 4 of the 5 wires were gone. I purchased replacement pigtails and the wire colors are different, so I don't know what to connect where.
