Default pics engine compartment ready to paint

I degreased the engine compartment, radiator, and condenser coil with simple green, will spray por 15 degreaser and let it dry real well, then spray por 15 rust inhibitor, and walah paint. Engine and new trany will be next, all sitting in shop ready for install. I'ts finally coming together.

Do yourself a favor and get yourself a new overflow tank. When I detailed my engine compartment the old tank looked like crap against all the shiny chrome.

While you're at it....I'd paint the frame too. At least as much as you can reach. That's what I did. Makes a difference.

Nice pic Juggy. How did you connect your A-arm splash shields? It looks like you used bolts rather than the push type connectors. Cuz of your pic I now know how to install mine!!

I think most of the Vette vendors sell them.

I used SS nuts & bolts, 1/2 inch I think. I think they look better than the plastic things.

Ice, I agree with Juggy, most have them. I picked mine up at Bloomington a couple of years ago. Those SS bolts look great! I was by the flaps that the bolts connect to the inner fender. Seeing you post makes it totally clear! again!

Oh yes.. and paint the frame as well....Mine came out looking great and the new overflow bottle is very nice in there.

I also got a new wiperfluiod bottle and used the eastwood gold cad system to redo the powerbrake booster.

Fauxrs:
Did you use the Eastwood 3-step gold cad system?
Did you do it on the car, or did you remove it to paint it?
I think it looks great.

Yes and On-car....

It's pretty good, though its tough to get just the right look...I tried to remove the thing form teh car, but it appears as if I would have had to strip the interior to get the top most bolts off the booster mount... so yeah I masked the car off and did it "in situ"
