Default Motor mount question ?

Ok, I pulled the engine in the 70' and the stock motor mounts were in two pieces - so I ordered new urethane ones.

The urethane ones showed up today in two pieces...???

Are they suppose to be? Can someone shed some light on this?

Stock rubber mounts should be on piece with a build in safety. If they rip then they come out as 2 pieces.
The poly ones are solid with the safety molded inside the mount with a steel plate, is this what you're referring to?

That is normal, it mentions it in the directions. Happen to read them?

Well, the stock one definitely is in two pieces so that wasn't good. They did lock together but it almost looked correct.

Well, I don't understand why there's the extra plate with the urethane mount..... It looks like you could install it without the plate.

The instructions really doesn't explain it or why it's a two piece design.

Oh - it's the Energy suspension 3-114G part number.

I got the Energy Suspension mounts as well. The extra plate is listed in the instructions as a "preload plate." There's one for my tranny mount also.

I generally don't read instructions but I just happen to on this one or I would have left the plate out.
