Default What speakers will fit

I just want to change the ones I have in the dash and in the back.I need to know what size they are.I don't want to do any mods, like cutting holes in any thing. What brand do you all suggest.I've got a JVC 200 watt in dash unit.I'm not looking for any of that booming bass stuff.Just want a nice clean sound. This is for my 82CE.Thanks,

My speakers are 6x9's mounted high in the rear. 3/8" plywood sheet, cut to fit behind the wheel wells, at the extreme periphery of the rear deck. They are cut to fit nicely, carpeted, and the rear speakers' magnet and backside fit right into the well. So the speakers are like an extension of the back wall. They take up absolutely no cargo space and there's room for tweeters or secondary speakers too, on the same sheet that holds the 6x9's on each side.

Here's a coupla shots for ya:

Boston Acoustic 4X6 (FX7) fit in the stock in dash location and sound great. Boston Acoustic 6X9 (NX97) fit in the rear stock location and sound great.

The Infinity "Reference" 4x6 plate speakers I purchased for the Front dash for my '81 do NOT fit. The woofer on this speaker model sits to "one side" of the speaker and bottoms out on steel and insulation below the dash cut-out. A deep woofer magnet would have to be designed with the woofer in the middle of the speaker to fit perfectly. I glued the original speaker oval gasket to the bottom of these speakers for a temporary shim/ fit.

This is a good sounding unit at a reasonable price. It has a shallow magnet to ensure fit.
