Corey
I see you decided to go with the March system. Do you mind me asking what setup you went with and how much it was? I looked at an S&P catalogue but I could not figure out what parts I would need so I called them and talked to there tech dept. By the time you add all the brackets, turn buckles, pulleys, and idler pulleys there setup is about the same cost as March.

I was going to order an aluminum water pump but I am not sure if the vette used a short or long pump. Which pump did you use?

Thanks Neal

I'm no Corey, but I'm using March Perf. serpentine set up on my 454 LS6, so I thought I'd reply to this too.

I'm using Edelbrock short waterpump, which is reverse rotation, not reverse flow. I'm more than happy with the product. No more belts jumping out the groove, due to some crappy brackets. The belt stays in line no matter what, and it's almost too easy to adjust. I love it!

I called every manufactor out there S&P, Zoops, March, and various other companies. March has PROVEN quality componets (I just installed a complete serpentine kit on our Street Rod). Unlike the other companies, March sells a complete kit and you don't have to piece everything together.

Here are the part numbers you need for any Big Block corvette application w/o air. If you have any questions the guys at March were very helpful.

#20550 for the peformance kit

I have a Aluminum Griffin rad and electric fan so I'm not too concerned about overheating.

This kit is for high flow applications and if you are running stock rad, water pump, etc I'd consider it.

You'll also need a new style power steering pump. March said to use one off of a 1987 Pontiac Sunbird. I picked one up from O'Riellys for $60 w/ a life time warrenty. Also you will ned a remote P/S reservoir, I picked up a chrome one from summit # SUM-340100 for $100.

I ordered the kit from Summit for $700, they were cheaper than March by $60, but are on a 3 week back order. They are shipping mine out Monday. It's pricey for everything, but now I'll never worry about throwing a belt, eaten up belts fropm pulleys being out of alignment, plus it looks good too.

Thanks for the info Twin Turbo and Corey 68 that is exactly what I want to avoid, the V belts jumping off under load.
