Default Decided I want flame throwers

The show pimp my ride is stupid, at least to me. It falls right in with every other MTV show, but they put flame throwers on an exhaust. I'm thinking I want this now.

Anyone got some good Ideas on how to do it? I don't have sidepoops err pipes.

Check with these companies.

Don't forget that the plastic on the rear of your car is NOT going to like all of that heat.

I'm not sure how well it would work but it's cheap enough to try it out.

This won't work. Just switching 12V dc to a spark plug will do zip! The "gotflames website FAQ" also warns against this. A normal ignition pumps up the voltage, hence you get the "jump" across the spark plug junction which is the spark. You essentially need a simple ignition system for the spark plugs in your "flame thrower". A simple device to do this may be something like a cheap electric fence system. It pulses a high voltage at regular intervals. Just want you would want for flames. I haven't tried it but it sounds like a cheap, simple alternative.

you could use just a switch and an ignition coil.
Flip the switch on and off and you'll get a spark...

How about rigging up an electronic starter from a BBQ grille? That device is compact and seems to make a healthy spark.

Think it would work with the mufflers that close to the tips? I would be concerned with the mufflers holding too much vapor & not going out after it's lit. Kinda pimp-rice too.

No, no other fuel besides gasoline. External coil, spark plug, wire, toggle switch and a rich carb is all you need.

don't want to run a rich carb, gas acts as a solvent and washes the oil off the cylinder walls.

True, but at a car show you'll see the guys with the 50 Mercs and other lead sleads richen up the mixure to produce the larger flame. Richen it up for the show, lean it out on the way home. It's illegal to use on the street anyway.

I think I just need a twin turbo 4litre that shoots them when downshifting.
