Default How do you measure core support size?

Question: How do you measure the core support? My car is a '69 with 350/350, 4sp and air. Core supports come in a few sizes such as 26" or 27". How do you know which one you need? Thanks, TP

Very funny ********, why don't you use that to measure yourself for a new brain jackass.
What I need are the reference points for the measurement on the core support. TP

I would also like to know, my core support brackets on the bottom measure 27 1/2’’ center to center.

Philvet, What combination are you running? i.e., yr., engine size, accessories. I think the big blocks are running 27" cores and small blocks are generally 26" unless they are running air conditioning. Not sure though.TP

It’s a 350 – 350 but the radiator support was bad. So I bought a new one. I didn’t realize at the time there were different sizes. My old rad. Doesn’t fit in the saddle bracket, looks to be an inch short, but that’s OK I need a new rad. anyway. My question is are only two sizes and how do you measure, center to center, outside to outside, inside to inside? Thanks

All joking aside I am pretty sure you need the 26.5 core support

Speaking of radiator supports, are they neccessary for structural integrity? I was looking at montys pics, and it appears he took his off. Would this be ok to do?

Are you sure he took his off??? The inner fenders have a reinforcement bracket (triangular thing) that bolts to the rad support. It does provide structural integrity there (also for the hood hinges) He probably had a custom radiator support.

yeah, it looks like it is a custom one. Seems it is just 2 pieces that mount on the inner fenders, not a big box like ours. I guess that is what confused me. Thanks for your help TT.
