75 convertible top question

75 convertible top question
In the various catalogs I see a reference to a tension cable for C3 tops. Where is this cable(s) located and what is the function? My top appears to have a piece of a broken cable attached to the top frame on the left hand side. Nothing on the right. Is this the tension cable? Where does the other end go? I can find nothing on it in the AIM.

The tension cable runs along the upper edge of the door opening. It anchors at the front corners with a screw and at the back edge of the door opening with a spring that's anchored to the top frame.

Thanks. I just figured out that there are three cables, not two as advertised in the catalogs. The cable on the frame apparently isn't offered in reproduction, but should be easy enough to fabricate.

tks for the Pic. Ed T. , I always had the same question. (about the cable). I just had a upholestery shop install my new soft top,and with all the weather striping included it ran me $1200.00. the rear window started to seperate from the vinal and the shop warrentiered thier work and reinstalled a new top at no charge..thk goodness... Ive heard that it wasent good to try yrself if ya dont have experience?, has anyone done the install there self? with no experence?,
