Default Emission Sticker Question

A little help please. After removing the grease from my emission sticker on my 69 vert the two letter code is a CN. The problem is I haven't been able to find which engine is referenced by the CN. The console says 427 435 HP and it also has a big block radiator and the rear sway bar, among other things that point to a big block car. I think that if the CN is in fact a BB 435 HP, I could say with confidence that it was a BB car.

My paragon catalog list the 1969 "CN" decal as being for the 435hp and L88. BUT they are easily replaced and the reproduction are VERY good, so you might just have a 435 car ( or an L88 ), but this label is just a positive sign, really not proof.

CN is indeed the emission/engine code for 435 and L-88 cars.

Emission certification label "CN" references the following engine suffixes, LX, LR, LT, LV, MS, LO, MR, LW LP, LU, ME MG which was designated for L71, L88, L89 or ZL1 RPOs with either automatic or 4 speed transmission equipped Corvettes. So your engine suffix should begin with an "L." If you wish to identify thoroughly what you have, I would suggest picking up an NCRS tech manual and record part numbers, casting numbers and date codes. This will give you a "numbers matching" scenario that will help to confirm its originality. Of course, it could go the other way but then in your own mind...you'll know what you have.

Thanks for the help. I guess it's just another piece to the puzzle. The sticker looks original, it's pretty beat, you can just about read it. I guess someone could have changed it along with the tech, sway bar, console among other things. However not sure why it's just a driver.
