Default side pipe headers

Hey,

I'm looking for side pipes headers for factory side pipes please help me. Can be new or old in any condition for a 1969 corvette. I all ready have orginal 1969 side pipes just need headers that will fit them. The engine in the car is a 1968 corvette 327.

I actually have a set that are wrapped and they go on a small block, and I am looking to sell.

You want Hedman side exhaust headers. They don't connect directly to
the stock pipes, but they are as close as you will get.
The small pipe in front must be shortened and welded with a collector
flange. Places like Summit have them pretty cheap.

Here are pictures of a friend's 73:
There are clearance areas - like the idler arm that may need addressing.
He needs to run a non-HD idler arm ... with the grease zerk removed.

Default Side Pipes

Well ..I'm gonna out with it. I got to tell ya guys thats the most trouble I ever seen to run a set of muffelers inside the rockers down the side of the car rather than down the center. Plus I been looking at these pipes and thinking about a set for my car. My 73 is in a metals shop that belongs to a friend and if its made out of metal we can fix it.

Which brings me to another topic I'de like to up load a pic every now and then, Why can't I seem to find the upload key?

Any hoo, I think with the mandrel bender and a few good measurements we could weld up a nice set of side pipes with just about any kinda muffler in between. Course I'd just maintain the standard hooker header pack and bend out an adaptor to the side of the car. I think it would be neet to Optionize the muffler pack for your own tasts, mild , moderate , and Woooo Momma!

Hedmans won't work for a BB with aluminum heads either.

Thanks Len ... I will note that for future reference, although
he has a 327 - so OK for his application.
What keeps them from working with the BB aluminum heads ?

I can't remember exactly. I sent them an email about a year ago. They said no way. It has something ot do with the exhaust openings in the aluminum heads being too large.

I concur, my buddy has the hedmans bolted to factory sidepipes and they fit with stock BB heads, but when he went to GM alum heads, the fit was not perfect to exhaust port. But he has been driving it around that way for 2 yrs, so go figure. leak is pretty minor
