it looks like a c4 door key. Gm used the keys for most of their doors, el caminos, oldsmobiles, chevy trucks. Basically any gm you can think of. It's a very common blank. Tell them its a door key for a 71 chevelle or something like that, and they'll choose the proper blank.
The alarm key on my '71 looks like a trunk key (round head as opposed to the square head ignition key).
how does the lock compare in size to the door lock , are they the same size(missing my lock and the hole is a larger dia , wondering if that is normal or bubbafied?) thanks biggvett for the highjack
Don't have my NCRS guide here, but to the best of my recollection, here goes:
In 69, the alarm was an option. It uses the small alarm switch mounted above the "CORVETTE" letters in the back. The key is a smaller, round head Briggs and Stratton key, totally unlike your ignition/door keys.
In later Shark years, the alarm switch changed to a bigger size switch, and the round head door key turned on the switch. Real, original 69 switches are available, but tougher to find. Chuck

Interesting - did not know. My 72 has a factory alarm (standard beginning this year), but it uses the round head GM key. Note that certain letter codes of GM keys were used in certain years and they are paired by two letters adjacent to each other (e.g. A/B, C/D, E/F, J/K, etc.).
