Default HURRAY!!!found source of electrical problem!!!HURRAY!!

OK, it's simple. There are obvious ( to the trained eye) electrical arc marks on the back of the alt. at the red wire connector. Theres some sort of relay or whatever it is right behind and below the alt. thats part of the long since removed air conditioning system ( see were this is going)! Ther are electrical arc markings on this strange air conditioning part. I think it was used when the air conditioning was on and the car was at idle!?!?!?!?!?
Anyway, looks like the engine was torquing ( remember broken driver side motor mount) and those two were making contact, .. and causing the fusable link atthe starter to go.
Heres the really interesting thing. All the electrical diagrams for a 77 he found wee useless. He had to use the diagram from a 78 to trouble shoot the system ,.because thats how the cars wired!!! How'd a 77 get to be wired like a 78 ????????? I know theres an early 77 with the key switch for the alrm on the fender. Then you got the late 77 were the thing is in the inside door panal. Did that carry over into 78??? He says only 1 fusable link is sapposed to be on the starter, based on the now more accurate 78 diaghram!?!? The 78 diagram shows the line frmo the alt. ( the one thats been arcing ) leads to the starter and tus the constantly blowing fusable link!!!
He drove the car yesterday and had no problem, so i'm picking her up tomorrow. I allready have arrangements to get the motor mount replaced first thing monday morn. Theres electrical tape on the back of the alt. at the connector and i'm having hat strange air conditioning whatever it is removed ( its riveted to the inside of the fender wall next to the alt.) So, I think we've solved the problem but i'm a little confused as to the wiring of my car! Yet, the new motor mount will hopefully spell the end of this 6 week long annoyance. Any comments or suggestions before i picker her up tomorrow?????

There is an Early & Late wiring for 77 in that regard, both have 2 fusible links. Mentioned that in your topics. Be sure the "underhood light cut & left hanging" & rest of "a/c removed" wires on pass. side are taken care of.
