Default Center Cluster wiring questions

I am now getting ready to put my dash back together and it is obvious Bubba was here. At least half of my instrument cluster bulb sockets were cut and reattached with just electrical tape. I am going to solder and shrinkwrap all of these. My first question is one of the bulb sockets, specifically the one for the heater control is a 2 wire bulb socket as I see in the AIM and wiring diagram. Can I wire this with a 1 wire bulb socket? The second question is coming out of this same harness is the console ground with 2 black wires piggybacked into a sort of spade type connector. Where does this attach to? I can't seem to remember. Oh and another question. There was a capacitor hooked to the back of the ammeter. Was this for the radio and since I am not running the radio can I get rid of this? Thanks for the help everyone.

Bill.

I can answer 1 of these. The 2 wire bulb has a + and a ground wire so it will light up. The center cluster is steel so it is grounded and the bulbs only need a + going to them. The console is not steel so it needs a ground with it also.

Thanks Gordonm. Anyone else on the other stuff? I just can't see where these piggybacked console ground wires would attach. Thanks.h

The two black wires into one spade plug into a prong on the bottom of the front edge of the console plate to provide a ground.
