Default Where to get Hooker sidepipe heat shields?

I've looked high and low and have only turned up a set from www.cobraaccessories.com They are only 21" long. I want something in the 36" range. Anybody have a clue?

My wife and kids thank you!

I think Mark70 and Arkansasflash were using these, they're 31in. I think they're 3" in diameter though and had to be modified to fit over the Hookers,

Alex Fok at www.cobrastuff.com can make them in a 36" length. He quoted me $200 for chrome 36" but I got ceramic 27" for $190. The 27" ones cover any part of the pipe I may touch when climbing out.

I think that guy who sells STS spiral baffle inserts, has some shields . I can't find his CF user name at this moment.

I have the 26" long JCL (STS) polished Stainless heatshields. They go well with my stainless hookers. I've had them for a few months, but only got around to fitting them last weekend. I reckon they look good. The wife thinks it looks better with the shields.
I don't think Jim at STS is manufacturing them anymore, but if he gets enough interest who knows? I managed to buy the set off his car, just lucky. Nice guy to do business with. Give him a call.
I will post some pics if I can work out how, or I can send you an email if you like.
Cheers
Mick

I bought mine (SS) from Jim at STS when he was offering them for sale. You can see them pictured on my website.

After a conversation with Jim, I've decided to make them for myself. There doesn't seem to be enough interest for heatshields to justify offering them regularly, and I'm too impatient to wait for GP to come to fruition. Material is on the way. I'll have it next week. Going with polished aluminum to match the rest of the polished of the aluminum on the car and to ease the metalworking

I LOVE the way my pipes look.....
I'm thinking about trying some black Nomex material tucked under the door sill that I can just flip out over the Hot pipes when I exit .... then just roll it back up & tuck it next to the seat when not in use.
Has anyone tried this????
Anyone have some black Nomex material they don't need???

Seems like a long useless process. The rubber is useless if you forget to put it down. You only burn your leg when you forget about the hot pipes. So basically, you would just be making the process of navigating the pipes longer with no advantage.

1) It would only take a second to flip it out over the pipes
2) it would only take a second to tuck it back in
3) Since almost dying in a motorcycle accident not very long ago, I'm not as limber as I used to be.... It would help ALOT
4)At 6'3 it's hard to step past the pipes with the top up anyway.
5) I love the way my pipes look WITHOUT perminent shields.
So for me It's not such a useless process!

Hi

Myne where on the car , when I bought it. I just modifyed the attachment to clamp type, so I can remove them without damaging the pipes.
I do not know who makes them, but they look similar to the once sold with the cheap pipe kit through JEGS or SUMMIT.
None of my 3 boys nor my wife have any burnmarks so far.
