Lets see if I can explain this right. There is a plastic bushing on the windshield piller that the top goes into.My tops have a threaded stud that fits in the bushing but it seems that something should be threaded onto the stud.Is this correct? If so what part do I need thanks. This is on an 82CE.
Thanks! It's the little stuff that bugs me.I was missing one of the plastic bushings and thats how I noticed it.I got a new pair of bushings so thats taken care of.
There is a tapered pin, about 1/2" diameter, on the left front corner of the driver's side and right front corner of the passenger side T-tops. They fit in the bushings on the windshield frame. The tapered pin does look like it may thread onto the post you are describing but I don't know why anyone would want to take them off! I looked in the Corvette Central catalog and did not see a replacement piece. They have the front guide pin bushings but not the front guide pin.
I would check with the used parts suppliers listed on this site. What you are looking for is a "T-top front guide pin". Until then, maybe slide a piece of hose over the threaded shaft to keep from tearing up your bushings. Sorry I was not more help. Good luck.
