what ones better? Ive always thought that msd was the best, but the pertronix flamethrower is blue so it looks cool, and Ive heard good things about the pertronix. any opinions welcome, thanks
The MSD electronics are probably a lot better. I have a Pertronix HEI kit that I just installed. The coil seems to be defective but they said they would replace it if needed so back it goes. The GM coil is back in there now and works fine.
MSD modules have been proven on a dyno to be good for more misfire free RPM than other competitors. Much higher RPM than I will ever need. They look a little unconventional but the performance is not questionable. They cost a lot more than Pertronix but I would say they are worth the money if you need high RPM ignition power.
Buy a Standard Ignition "Blue Streak" cap if you like blue so much. They are blue, high quality and have brass contacts too.
thanks for the info. so do msd hei distribuors use teh same size caps as other HEI distributors?
Ive seen blue caps and if they would fit the MSD that would be great. I plan on eventually having a blue block, spark plug wires, and maybe one of those blue air filters if theyre any good. I also want chrome valve covers with blue lettering, I think all that will look real cool
