Default engine number...need help

here's my engine number from the 77
t0408cmj

i need to know some info on it......pistons,heads,etc........

Just checked my restoration guide, no such number as you gave. 77 engine codes would be CHD,CKD,CKZ,CLA,CLB,VLC,CLD, and CLF. Casting number would be 3970010 for 75-77.

CMJ was used twice, once in '74 on a 350 used in the full sized chevy and then again in '80 on a 305 used in the full sized chevy and in the Camaro. Need to check you casting date to determin which you have.

figures, i prolley have a non-stock engine in it........ the block is blue though...... it's a 350 small block i believe and i'm just try to figure out what mods i can do to it without getting over my head with costs and time......
