will a semi high rise aluminum intake fit under the stock 77 hood with everything togther?

i'm working on the engine and would like to upgrade the intake

The best thing you could do...and dont ask me how Im trying to fiure it out myself...is to somehow measure from WHERE the engine sits to the top of the hood when closed to give you the dimensions of how tall you can go. Subtract the height of your current intake/carb/aircleaner setup and then ADD the new setup to see if it fits....

This might be totally off base haha Im a big fan of doing things the hard way. Is there an easier way? Dunno, these boys will though.

Yes, the 73-79 med. rise hood allows the Victor Jr, RPM & others on SB w/ aftermarket dropbase filter & Holley.

I have an Edelbrock Performer RPM Air Gap intake with a Demon carb on my '77. Mine uses a K&N drop base air cleaner with a 3" filter element. I have NO fitment problems at all...in fact when I measured my clearance I still have exactly 1&1/16th of an inch clearance left at both the front edge and the center of the air cleaner.
